So near, yet so far. It is precisely what must be going through the mind of female Indian golfer Aditi Ashok and the fans. The world number 200 Indian produced an out of the ordinary performance to finish sixth at the Tokyo Olympics.

While she missed the medal just by a whisker, she certainly helped India register its best finish in the sport at the event. Consequently, she was applauded by the Indians, who feel that she has given a new identity to the sport in India and has inspired a lot of young athletes.
