Argentine superstar, Lionel Messi has become a legendary figure in football, as he has made a name for himself by playing at Barcelona. Since his childhood, he has been playing with the Catalans and holds countless records to his name, while he has also won six Ballon d'Or titles.

However, multiple reports have stated over the months that Messi is unhappy at Camp Nou, owing to the current circumstances surrounding the club's hierarchies and board of directors. If some reports are to be believed, he has been linked with a move to Manchester City in England and Paris Saint-Germain in France.

The speculations have also gathered pace in the past few days, owing to the terrible situation at Barca. The Catalans are supposedly under a debt of €1.2 billion. Furthermore, Messi contract was leaked a few days back, which revealed that he earns around €555 million. Meanwhile, his current contract is all set to end at the end of the ongoing season, while he is yet to sign an extension.

With the uncertain situation at Camp Nou, Messi could apparently look to reunite with former Barca manager, Pep Guardiola, at City. Or, he could also reconvene with his former Barca teammate, Neymar, at PSG.

While these are merely rumours, they have reached the ears of Messi, who has supposedly got frustrated with all. On the same note, according to a report by goal.com, Messi has said that it would be he who decides where to play the next season. It could also mean that Messi could continue at Barca, thus putting an end to the speculations for now.

The uncertainty is set to continue until the next month when Barca holds its presidential elections. Messi reportedly had a strained relationship with the former president, Josep Bartomeu. As per multiple articles, Joan Laporta, Toni Freixa and Victor Font are in the contention for the role. Meanwhile, goal.com also reports that Messi has not spoken to either, as he wished to stay neutral on the matter.

Messi had already handed in a transfer request last season, which Barca turned down. However, if situations fail to improve at the club in the coming days, the considerations will likely gather fire again.
