Kohli Kumble controversy Rift could shouldve been handled properly says Sourav Ganguly

Former Indian captain and current Cricket Advisory Committee member Sourav Ganguly has finally spoken about the Kohli-Kumble spat.

He said that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) should have handled the situation better.

According to a report by the New Indian Express, Ganguly said, “The matter should have been handled a lot better between Anil Kumble and Virat Kohli. It should have been handled a lot better by whoever is in charge. It wasn't dealt with properly."

Ganguly, who is also the president of Cricket Association of Bengal, was named in a seven-member special committee headed by IPL chairman Rajiv Shukla. The committee will identify the critical points in the implementation of the Lodha Committee reforms.

The Special Committee is expected to begin work in the next two days and is likely to submit its first report within a fortnight.

When asked about Ravi Shastri applying for the post of head coach Ganguly said, “Everybody has got the right to apply. We will find out. I can also apply provided I’m not an administrator.”

Ravi Shastri is known to dislike Sourav Ganguly. He had openly accused Ganguly of replacing him with Anil Kumble after convincing Sachin Tendulkar and VVS Laxman.

It will be interesting to see if Sourav Ganguly will vote for Ravi Shastri for the head coach.
