Bengaluru lakes: Justice Santosh Hegde to write to NGT over BWSSB's blunder

 The National Green Tribunal (NGT) constituted a committee to monitor the development of lakes. Now, the committee is left in deep shock by the Bangalore Water Supply and Sewage Board (BWSSB) as it has built sewage treatment Plant without the provision to let the treated water into lakes.  The committee headed by former Lokayukta Santosh Hegde visited Agra Lake and made this observation. He says he will send the report  to NGT for further action.

Cubbon Park to save 10 lakh litres of water by monsoon 2019

In order to ensure that Cubbon park does not suffer during summer in the coming years and to reduce its dependency on the Bengaluru Water Supply and Sewage Board (BWSSB), the authorities from the department of horticulture and NGOs are working towards groundwater recharging. The project is likely to begin in March and end by June. Once completed, the wells can hold over 10 lakh litres of water.
