Supari to kill Sandalwood actor Arjun Dev: Rowdy Slum Bharat arrested
Slum Bharat was arrested in connection with another case by the CCB police, when he confessed to have got supari to kill a Sandalwood actor.
FollowBengaluru: Rowdy Slum Bharat and his associates were arrested by the Bengaluru Police’s Central Crime Branch (CCB) and are questioning them.
Nearly a year ago, Kannada sandalwood actor Arjun Dev had filed a complaint with the police that he had got a “death threat” from unknown persons.
After a thorough probe, Bharat alias Slum Bharat and his six associates are being questioned. Bharat also known as Kengeri Bharat has more than 30 cases including murder, attempt to murder, dacoity, looting.
He was absconding and the police searched for him almost a year after the complaint was filed. On February 5, he was arrested after shooting him in a chase.
Though he was arrested in connection with another case, while questioning, the police came to know about the supari given to kill Arjun.
Arjun filed a complaint with the Byatarayanapura Police on March 19, 2018 and had even said that the rowdy and his men had done a recce of his house.
He also said he came to know about the plot to kill him through a well wisher on March 19 last year.
However, the police had just filed a Non Cognisable Report (NCR), according to which the police cannot arrest the accused without a warrant.
However, the actor went ahead and filed a private complaint with a local court that directed the police to register a case of criminal intimidation and conspiracy under various IPC sections.
In May last year some people wearing masks had pelted stones at Arjun’s car. He had acted as a hero in the movie Yugapurusha.
The police filed the case accordingly and started investigating. After Bharat confessed to the crime the case is being probed in detail.
