Bengaluru: A 33-year-old man was murdered on Saturday (April 6) as he had gone out to gamble with his friends.

Ramesh (33), a real estate agent, had gone out to gamble with his friends on the occasion of Ugadi.

Ramesh reportedly won a huge amount of money and was returning to his Hosakerahalli residence. On his way back home, Ramesh got involved in a fight with other gamblers in which he was stabbed multiple times. His body was recovered from Krishnappa Layout.

According to reports, Ramesh's body was found by a senior citizen of Krishnappa Layout who informed the Rajarajeshwari police station.

A policeman said Ramesh's body was lying with a vest and a pant on it and the money was missing. He also said that the killers had hit the victim's head with a heavy object.

A case has been registered at the Rajarajeshwari Nagar police station and further investigations are on. While investigating the crime, they realised that the victim had no money with him which led to a suspicion that he was killed for money.

The police have collected the CCTV footage from the local spots to try and identify the culprits.

The police officials visited Hosakerehalli and questioned locals about Ramesh's death. The residents of the area alleged that the victim had been gambling in a temple till 11 pm on Saturday.

The 33-year old real estate agent was living with his wife Laxmi Bai and their son Ritesh. According to reports, Ramesh's wife said that he had gone out to gamble at around 7pm on Saturday and did not return home. Following this, Laxmi filed a missing complaint on Sunday morning.
