Kannada actor Anil Kumar breathes his last in Bengaluru
Kannada film and TV star Anil Kumar breathed his last at a private hospital in Bengaluru on April 3, after suffering from illness for a brief period
Bengaluru: Anil Kumar, popular Kannada serial and movie actor, passed away at the Baptist Hospital in Bengaluru on Wednesday (April 3). He was 47. The last rites were held at his hometown Tiptur today (April 4).
The actor is survived by his wife and 12-year-old daughter.
The mortal remains were kept at his Bengaluru residence on Wednesday. Later, the funeral was held in Tiptur.
Many from the Kannada film industry paid their respects to the actor and attended his last rites.
Anil was a theatre personality and graduated from the Ninasam Theatre Institute. He was a batch-mate of Challenging Star Darshan at the institute.
The actor was suffering from an illness and was admitted to hospital on March 18. He was on ventilator.
He started his acting career in the serial Moodala Mane. He had also acted in serials including Lakshmi Baramma, Chi Sou Savithri, Preethi Prema, Alaguli Mane, Madarangi, Janumada Jodi and he was working in the serial Brahma Gantu.
Recently, he also won the national award for his performance in the movie Pallata.
Known for his subtle acting skills, Anil was said to be facing financial problems when he fell ill. Many from the Kannada film industry, including Darshan, had extended financial help.
