Bengaluru: BJP released its first list of 184 candidates for the Lok Sabha elections yesterday. In Karnataka, the party has fixed the candidates for 21 constituencies and is yet to announce its candidates for seven more constituencies.

The Karnataka unit of the BJP had said that late Ananth Kumar's wife Tejaswini Ananth Kumar's name has been proposed for the Bengaluru South constituency. But the seat has not been announced yet. It is the same with current MP of Koppal, Karadi Sanganna. It was touted that Sanganna would get the ticket this time too. Still the name has not been declared in the first list.

The seven constituencies that await the announcement of BJP candidates:

1) Bengaluru South

2) Bengaluru Rural

3) Mandya

4) Chikkodi

5) Raichur

6) Koppal

7) Kolar

Among these, even Mandya has become an interesting constituency as there is a fight between Congress- JD(S) member Nikhil Kumaraswamy and independent star candidate Sumalatha. BJP is under pressure to field a candidate here as it is not right to leave any constituency without a candidate, especially when there has been no negotiations with any party or a candidate to extend support.

Even in Bengaluru Rural, there are speculations that a model will be fielded against sitting MP, Congress leader DK Suresh. It was rumoured that BJP leader CP Yogeshwar, who had lost against DK Suresh in the last general elections, will contest against Suresh. But according to Suvarna news, there are talks of fielding CP Yogeshwar's daughter Nisha Yogeshwar (actress, model) from the constituency.
