Amazon staffer arrested for stealing electronic gadgets in Bengaluru
A staff member of Amazon has been arrested for allegedly stealing electronic goods. Six other people are suspected to have a hand in the theft.
Bengaluru: A staff member of the world’s leading digital retailer, Amazon, was accused of stealing electronic gadgets. Six other people are suspected by police to be involved in the theft.
Amazon Transportation Services Pvt Ltd employee Jaskirat Singh Narula filed a complaint at Siddapura Police station. Based on the complaint, police arrested Krishnan V, a resident of Manjunatha Nagar on Magadi Road, Bengaluru.
The incident came to light on May 17 (Friday), during a stock-checking process. Amazon authorities who suspected theft had checked CCTV footage before filing a complaint.
Krishnan and the six other men who reportedly worked in the Amazon regional branch in Arekempanahalli, near Lal Bagh, Bengaluru, are suspected to be involved in stealing goods from the facility.
The seven accused were reportedly accustomed to stealing electronic gadgets along with a variety of other products that were stored in the area.
Few goods which were not delivered to their addresses as bar codes were not clearly visible were meant to be returned but were allegedly stolen by the accused men on April 17.
A month later, on May 17 during the stock-checking process, Amazon authorities discovered that goods were missing.
The police have arrested Krishnan, who is the head of the warehouse facility and are investigating the involvement of the other six. Items such as Bluetooth headphones, footwear, mobile phones, grocery products, kitchen appliances and bed sheets were seized from the accused.
