Man from Maharashtra wins a million dollars in Dubai Duty Free lottery
Ganesh Shinde, a seaman, working in a Brazilian company Seabras Sapura Talent Ltd, was shocked to learn that he had won the jackpot.
Ganesh Shinde, a resident of Maharashtra, has won $1 million (Rs 7.49 crore) in the Dubai Duty-Free Millennium Millionaire and Finest Surprise draw.
The 36-year-old from Thane had bought the jackpot ticket number 0207 from the Dubai Duty-Free Millenium Millionaire website on June 16.
Shinde, a seaman, working in a Brazilian company Seabras Sapura Talent Ltd, was shocked to learn that he had won the jackpot.
Speaking to local media, Shinde said he would use the money to buy a new apartment, a new car and save money for his child's education.
The Duty-Free's lucky draw was first introduced in 1999. Shinde, who is currently on vacation, is the 181st Indian national to win $1 million. Indian nationals are one of the highest numbers of Dubai Duty-Free Millennium Millionaire ticket buyers.
Besides, the Millennium Millionaire draw, two luxury vehicles were also given away as the Finest Surprise draw.
Justin French, 52-year-old Australian national based in Dubai, won a Range Rover Sport HSE Dynamic 5.0 (Silicon Silver) car while Rohit Mote, a 30-year-old Nepalese based in Abu Dhabi, won a BMW R nineT Scrambler (Black Storm Metallic/Racing Red) motorbike.
