Police interrogations not for Guinness records: Senkumar

In a scathing attack against his former superior, Thachankary said it was not right to try tarnishing the police force's image after enjoying all benefits the department had to offer. The officer also said he is waiting for his retirement to respond to some of the allegations raised against him.

"Authority should not be misused merely to gain applause. The notion that only you are right and all others are wrong is some kind of a mental disorder," reports quoted Thachankary as saying.

Senkumar, who retired as state police chief on Friday, had come down heavily against Thachankary recently, accusing him of removing case files from the police headquarters.

During a recent talk show Senkumar criticised the LDF government's decision to appoint Thachankary as ADGP at the police headquarters, saying “the government chose a butcher when it needed a surgeon".
