Actor Dileep, arrested in the actress attack case, gave Pulsar Suni, the prime accused, the 'quotation' to attack the actress and record the visuals three years ago, it has emerged.
Police sources revealed that Dileep gave a quotation of Rs 1.5 crore to Suni to kidnap and molest the actress back in 2013, and that it was done directly and not through any third party.
Dileep hired Suni to attack the actress to settle a personal vendetta. The actress had allegedly exposed Dileep's closeness with Kavya Madhavan to Manju Warrier, while he was still married to the latter. It is understood that Dileep held the actress responsible for his and Manju's divorce. The attack is not related to real estate deals between the two, as initially suspected.

Dileep and the actress had a public feud during an AMMA show in 2013, following which the bad blood increased. The plan to attack her was hatched in the parking lot of Hotel Abad Plaza on MG Road in Kochi, and the discussions took place in Dileep's BMW car. The car's number plate 5445 was mentioned in the letter that Suni recently wrote to Dileep from jail. Suni had reportedly tried two execute the plan on two previous occasions but failed.
It was in late 2016 that the second and the deciding phase of the conspiracy happened. Dileep, now separated from Manju and married to Kavya, met Suni on the sets of his last release Georgettan's Pooram and told him it was the time to execute the plan.

Police sources said that Dileep asked Suni to harass the actress and shoot a video, which is at least three minutes long and shows her 'smiling face' and a ring that was gifted by her fiance. It is suspected that Dileep figured that if they had the video, the actress would never go to the police to file a complaint about the attack. Some reports claim that Dileep also wanted to ruin the actress' marriage, like he believed she did to him.
But once the attack came to light and Suni and co were arrested, Dileep tried to distance himself from everything. He even told the police that he didn't know Suni. However, the probe team found several scientific evidence linking Suni to Dileep.
