Petroleum distributors in Kerala has decided to close pumps on July 11 alleging discrepancies in the daily pricing of petroleum products. Petroleum Dealers Coordination Committee (PDCC), the Association of fuel station owners in the state said that with the new system retailers are forced to sell fuel at a lower price than they are brought at. 

"The oil companies and Petroleum Ministry said that they are introducing price change as per the movements in the international crude oil market. However, the price of oil changes even of Saturdays and Sundays, which are holidays in the international market," Committee leaders pointed out. 

They also alleged that the Petroleum Ministry is colluding with oil companies and the retailers are suffering. The dealers also asked for a scientific implementation of the decision. 

The members of PDCC have decided to boycott premium petroleum products from Sunday and not to take stock from July 8. As many as 2,200 fuel stations are expected to join hands with PDCC for the strike.
