Opening of Vault B Amicus Curiae to visit royal family

After the government failed to reach a consensus with the royal family members in matters relating to the opening of Vault B, the amicus curiae is planning to visit the state to resolve the differences of opinion.

Gopal Subramaniam, who was appointed by the Supreme Court to look into the affairs of Padmanabhaswamy temple talk to Tantris to reach a consensus on the matter.

Subramaniam informed Travancore Royal family that he would visit before July 20 for discussions. The royal family members had earlier said that they wouldn't consent to the opening of Vault B as it is against the will of deity and main tantris.

Meanwhile, Kerala Devaswom Minister Kadakampally Surendran said that the ruling of Supreme Court on the opening of the vault must be implemented. "I don't know why the royal family is opposing to it. We will try to alleviate their concerns," he said.

CPM veteran V S Achuthanandan too had requested to follow Supreme Court order and open the vault. He also asked why the people of the royal family is afraid of the move.

The yet to be opened chamber is believed to reach up to the sanctum sanctorum of the temple. Rumour has it that the cellar is full of gold, precious stones and coins that fill 12 iron vases.

Though the examiner tried to open the vault earlier, the plan could not be carried through as they failed to open the second steel door leading up to the vault.
