Couple get life term for raping minor daughter

- The man raped both girls and took their pictures in the presence of the mother of the minors
FollowA court in Kerala awarded jail term until death to a woman for abetting and helping her paramour rape her minor daughter. The man was also awarded life term after he was charged under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
The Special Sessions Court also slapped a fine of ₹10,000 each on both convicts. The judge also ordered to hand over ₹3 lakh to the rape survivor from victim compensation fund.
The incident took place in 2015. The 46-year-old woman took her three children, two girls and a five-year-old boy to Thrissur during Onam vacation. She checked into a lodge, as planned with her lover, and allowed him to rape her two daughters, elder one 17-years-old and younger 12-years-old. He even took the nude photographs of the girls.
The crime was carried out in connivance with and in the presence of the mother of girls. The sexual abuse left the older girl mentally disturbed.
It was during a counselling session at school that the older girl revealed about it and the woman and her paramour was arrested.
The court has pronounced judgement in the case relating to rape of the elder girl, and the trial in the rape of younger one is still on.
