Dileep, Nadirshah seek legal advice; police ask duo not to leave state

Amid speculations of an imminent arrest of suspects in the Kochi actress attack case, Dileep and Nadirshah have reportedly sought legal advice from a prominent advocate in the city.

Dileep on Monday called on a high-profile lawyer, who also has a close working relationship with the government, according to reports. It is understood that the advocate has advised the actor not to apply for anticipatory bail.

The move came after it emerged that the probe team is likely to question Dileep and Nadirshah again, along with Kavya Madhavan's mother Shyamala, in the next couple of days. The trio has come under the police scanner with regard to a possible conspiracy behind the attack on the actress.

Meanwhile, there are also reports that the police have asked Dileep and Nadirshah not to leave the state before the second round of questioning without their permission.

The probe team, led by ADGP B Sandhya, had quizzed Dileep and Nadhirshah at Aluva police club in a marathon 13-hour grilling session on June 28. It is understood that there have some contradictions in their statements, while some sources claim Nadirshah refused to answer some of the questions.

Dileep's manager AS Sunil Kumar aka Appunni is also being monitored closely after the probe team found digital evidence that prime accused Pulsar Suni got in touch with him.

DGP Loknath Behera on Monday hinted at the possibility of certain arrests soon as part of the probe. However, since the case involves celebrities and other prominent personalities, the probe team has been asked to take extra caution and garner all necessary evidence before someone is taken into custody.
