Dileep is suffering from labyrinthitis, an inflammation of the inner ear causing dizziness, nausea and loss of balance, according to reports. The condition is believed to be caused by fluctuating inner ear fluid levels, which is in turn a result of severe mental tension.

Though jail authorities gave Dileep medicines for the same, his condition has not improved. It is understood that Dileep was not even able to stand up properly when doctors visited the jail to examine him.
Sleeping on the floor everyday for such a long period has also affected the health condition of the actor. Though the jail superintendent considered shifting Dileep to a hospital due to his condition, they eventually decided against it due to security reasons, according to reports.

Meanwhile, Dileep's remand period ends on Tuesday. Dileep's new counsel B Raman Pillai is expected to file a plea, asking the court not to extend his judicial custody any further.
