high court lift Sreesanth life ban bcci ipl spot fixing case

The Kerala High Court has annulled the lifetime ban imposed by the BCCI on Indian cricketer S Sreesanth in the wake of the 2013 IPL spot-fixing scandal.

The HC passed the verdict on Monday while allowing a writ petition filed by Sreesanth, challenging the decision of the BCCI disciplinary committee.

The Kerala fast bowler was arrested on charges of spot-fixing during the IPL in May 2013. The BCCI disciplinary committee handed him a life ban from cricket in September 2013.

A Delhi court acquitted Sreesanth in the case in July 2015. However, the BCCI refused to lift the ban and also denied him a 'no objection certificate' for playing in Scotland earlier this year.

After the judgement, Sreesanth wrote on Twitter, “God is great..thanks for the all the love and support”.
