Fazal Murder: Here's why CBI court rejected plea for further probe

A CBI court has rejected the petition seeking further probe into Fazal murder case, which had sparked controversy. Abdul Sathar, the brother of the victim, had approached the court seeking further investigation in the case. 

Rejecting the petition, the court pointed out that the statement given by RSS activist Subeesh is contradicting with the findings of police. Court further clarified that a probe cannot be ordered on the basis of a statement alone. 

Sathar had approached court after a video of Subeesh surfaced on media. In the media, he had said that the murder was committed by four RSS activists, including him, and the CPM was not involved.

CPM leader Karayi Rajan, the seventh accused in the case, had submitted the video in the court. As the video leaked, Subeesh came out and said that he was forced to make the confession.

The CBI, the investigation agency, had found that the CPM took revenge after Fazal left their party to join NDF. The agency had also argued that Fazal's brother, a CPM supporter, was trying to derail the probe. 

However, Fazal's wife and sister had said that they were satisfied with the current probe and there is no need to conduct further investigation.
