MLA Anwar Sadath was addressing mediapersons after reports claimed that he could be questioned "I have no real estate deals with Dileep. The police have not asked me to appear for interrogation" "Just because of my friendship with Dileep in the past, certain persons are levelling allegations against me"
Congress leader and Aluva MLA Anwar Sadath admitted that he maintained a good rapport with actor Dileep but stressed he was not involved in any real estate deals with him.
Sadath was addressing mediapersons in Kochi on Friday after reports claimed that he could be questioned in connection with the actress attack case. Some sections had raised allegations that the Congress leader helped Dileep in the case.
“I have no real estate deals with Dileep. I had spoken to him over phone after the incident. He swore in the name of God that he is not connected to the case in any way," Sadath pointed out.
“The police have not asked me to appear for interrogation. Just because of my friendship with Dileep in the past, certain persons and organisations are levelling allegations against me. It is politically motivated," he added.
Meanwhile, the magistrate court in Angamalay extended the police custody of Dileep till 5 pm on Saturday. The police later took the actor, arrested on July 10, to the Aluva police club for interrogation.
In its application, the prosecution had sought police custody for three more days saying it was necessary for carrying out the investigation into the conspiracy in the case.
