Case against senior journalists for blackmailing woman Mangalam

Kerala police have filed a case against a senior journalist for allegedly blackmailing and demanding money from a housewife. Midhun Pulluvazhy, a senior reporter with Mangala Daily allegedly demanded four lakhs from the woman. 

Raju Paul, Kochi bureau chief of the newspaper is also named accused in the case. 

The journalist allegedly threatened to give a story stating that the housewife had a role in the death of her former driver. He died while working at a private resort. 

Police have collected the call records of Midhun and Raju. The officials also seized two phones from the accused, which is suspected to be the ones used for blackmailing the woman.

Paul, the editor of an online magazine, published from Thrissur, has also been named accused in the case. The woman had filed complaint three months ago. 

Last week, a senior journalist from Mathrubhumi news was arrested on charges of sexual assault based on a complaint filed by a junior journo. He was remanded to 14 days judicial custody.
