After both the High Court and the Angamaly court had rejected Dileep's previous bail plea, the defence - led by Dileep's new lawyer B Raman Pillai - has come up with some new arguments to strengthen their case in a fresh plea submitted before the HC on Thursday.

Several VIPs in Malayalam film industry conspired against me: Dileep

In his new bail application, Dileep has made some accusations against ADGP B Sandhya, who is leading the probe team. According to Asianet News, Dileep claims that Sandhya is close to his ex-wife Manju Warrier, who was one of the first to allege conspiracy in the actress attack

Meanwhile, Dileep also accused Sandhya of interrogating him without IG Dinendra Kashyap's knowledge. All interrogation sessions were recorded but Dileep alleged that Sandhya turned off the camera when he was giving statements against director VA Shrikumar Menon, according to reports.

In the bail plea, Dileep reportedly claims that Menon, known for helming upcoming Mohanlal films Odiyan and Randamoozham, has a personal grudge against him. Menon has close business relations with several top politicians and is hence capable of influencing the investigation, as per the bail plea, with Sandhya turning off the camera cited as an exmaple of this.

The HC had dismissed Dileep's earlier bail plea on July 24 after finding that the investigation in the case was progressing and the mobile phone, stated by the prosecution as a key evidence in the case, had not been recovered.

The actor said that the scenario has completely changed now and he is not the kingpin of any criminal conspiracy or even a participant therein. The petitioner says he is not the perpetrator of any criminal offence, and stressed that he has never seen, met or talked with prime accused Pulsar Suni.

"He is only the unfortunate victim of an orchestrated media campaign and proceedings of a group of police officers acting on the pre-conceived notion of guilt of the petitioner and wanting to implicate him as an accused. Continued detention will not serve any useful purpose for further investigation, if any, and that being so his further detention is unjust," the petition said.
