Actress assault probe not in right direction says DGP

Outgoing Kerala police chief T P Senkumar has said that the probe in sensational actress abduction and attack is not on the right track. He also issued a circular stating that ADGP B Sandhya should not investigate the case alone.

"Crime branch IG Dinesh Kashyap is the officer heading the investigation. The probe must be held on the basis of the collective decision. In this case, Kashyap was not aware of several matters related to the investigation, including the interrogation of Dileep and Nadirshah. ADGP Sandhya led the questioning while all other interrogations were carried out by a team under Kashyap," the circular said.

Media has several details related to the probe while investigating officers are not aware of it. This is not a professional approach, the circular said.

The DGP also asked whether the interrogation of Dileep was carried out on the basis of any evidence.

However, the circular does not have the name of ADGP Sandhya in it.

The DGP later said that the circular does not indicate that he is not happy with the investigation.
