Speaking about the same, Seemanth Kumar Singh, Additional Commissioner of Police, East Zone, Bengaluru City has said that based on the complaint filed by the victim through email, the driver has been arrested and his car has been seized. The police have also issued a notice to the Ola cabs as to why the pre-certification of the driver was not done.
The complaint by the girl states that she boarded the Ola cab at 2.25 AM on June 1 from Kodihalli to Airport. The driver took a deviation, parked the car at an isolated place. Locked the doors and windows of the cab and tried to molest her. When she tried to prevent it, the driver Arun Kumar threatened her that he would call his friends and rape her.
The driver is also said to have told that if she tries to escape, he will kill her. Then he snatched her phone, took her photographs and sent it to his phone through WhatsApp. The victim is said to have deleted these photos from her phone.
Later, on pleading the driver is said to have dropped the victim to the airport.
