Reportedly, Jayaram was in his two-wheeler waiting for the signal to clear at the Vijayanagar water tank junction. Ramakrishna, who came behind Jayaram, honked at him. indicating that the constable move and let the senior citizen take a right turn. Jayaram asked him to stop honking and wait for the signal, reports Kannada Prabha.

Irked over this, Ramakrishna came out of his vehicle and kicked up a fight with Jayaram, demanding to know why the road was blocked despite it being a free right. The argument escalated, and in the heat of the moment, Jayaram allegedly hit Ramakrishna with his helmet and pushed him down.

Ramakrishna fell and hit his head on a stone, suffering a serious injury. Soon, passersby gathered and protested against the constable's behaviour.
