TenderSURE: Majestic, Market to have world class roads at Rs 130 crore
- Majestic and K R Market area will have world class roads under TenderSURE.
- The roads will shrink in width but provide ample pedestrian walks at a cost of Rs 130 crore.
- Car, bike parking, designated cycle path, bus bay, shelter and median are included in the plan.
- The roads will be uniform junction to junction and facilitate smooth traffic.
FollowTenders are finalised to execute TenderSURE roads in Majestic and K R market area. The world class roads will shrink in their original width but facilitate smooth traffic due to even surface and adequate pedestrian footpaths, reports Kannada Prabha.
The decision to float tenders for TenderSURE in its 3rd phase, to upgrade 13 roads was taken in 2016 June. Â The first phase of this will see 6 roads being laid at cost of Rs 130 crores. The tenders are finalised in this regard and soon after obtaining green signal from the government the works will commence, BBMP Commissioner N Manjunath told Kannada Prabha.
Under this project 6 roads are identified in Gandhi Nagar, total 4.60 km as one package, including mains and cross roads. Â From Annamma Temple road to Kanakadasa Circle main road, road in front of Sapna Book House, road opposite to Yatri Nivas, Cross roads at sairam Residency, Sangam Lodge, Gandhi Nagar Park will be developed into TenderSURE roads.
The TenderSURE road will include carriage way, rainwater harvesting duct, electric cable, drinking water pipes and a wide pedestrian footpath. Â The roads will have concrete on white topping. Â Car and two wheeler parking, separate cycle lane will be provided. Separate bus bay, bus shelter and median will be provided.
The width of the rods will shrink but the uneven surface will be corrected and smooth roads will result in easy traffic. The roads will maintain equal width junction to junction. The quality of roads will improve and traffic will be facilitated said N Manjunath Prasad.
The roads that will be reconstructed under TenderSURE are Subedar Chatram Road, Gubbi Thotadappa Road, Dhanvantri Road, Hanumanthappa Road, roads around Gandhi Nagara at Majestic. At K R Market area Bashyam Road, Sethurao Road, Gundpath Road, Venkatarao Road will be developed.
