A man walked into the classroom, where his wife was teaching, poured petrol over her and set her on fire and escaped. The heinous incident occurred at Shambhayya Palya village in Magadi taluk, Ramanagara district on Wednesday, reports Kannada Prabha.

Sunandamma (50) teacher at Shambhayya Palya Government Primary School is a resident of Tavarekere, Bengaluru south. She had divorced her first husband and had married again five years ago to one Renukaradhya of Devaraya Pattana, Tumakuru district. He has a wine store in Kyatasandra in Tumakuru. The couple have a son. Renukaradhya was dropping Sunandamma daily to school in his car. However, a few months ago they had fight over some financial matter and had separated. On Wednesday, Renukaradhya barged into the classroom, poured petrol on her and set her on fire before escaping. 

Sunandamma has suffered 70 per cent burn injuries and is admitted to Victoria Hospital where she is being treated.
