Sex CD scandal comes to haunt Meti again as victim lodges complaint against him

FollowBack on the heels of CID giving a clean chit to former minister and Bagalkot legislator HY Meti in the alleged sexual assault case, the victim Vijayalakshmi has now lodged a complaint of sexual assault and threat to life against the minister.
She met Director General and Inspector General of Police RK Dutta and Additional Chief Secretary Subhash Chandra, who is also the Principal Secretary of Home Department in Bengaluru on Thursday. With the fresh complaint being lodged against the former minister, the alleged sexual assault case has come to haunt him again.
The alleged CD which had shown Meti in a compromising position with a woman had gone viral and eventually saw him resigning from the ministry. However, the case took a lot of twists and turns as the victim denied to identify with the woman in the CD. Later, RTI activist Rajashekhar Mulali too gave contradicting statements about the CD.
However, now the victim has acknowledged that the woman with the minister in the CD was her. "Since the CD was exposed I was in severe depression. Fearing for my life from the supporters of the minister, I had gone underground for seven months. I cannot bear the shame anymore. So, I decided to complain against the minister, so am here in Bengaluru," Vijayalakshmi told media persons in Bengaluru on Thursday, reports Kannada Prabha.
In her complaint, she has alleged that former minister Meti had first tried to sexually assault when she had visited his office in Bagalkot City Municipal Council in Navnagar. "He had tried to kiss me, but I ran for my life." Some days later, "I had to meet him for my work and he had asked me to come near his home. There also, Meti had forced himself on me. He had even threatened me from talking about it in public. Despite my pleas, Meti tortured me," Vijayalakshmi has alleged in her complaint.
She went on to say that she was distraught with the repeated sexual assaults on her. "Especially when the CD of Meti sexually assaulting me on December 11, 2106, went viral, I was in depression. As the CD became viral, the supporters of Meti kept me under house arrest and threatened me with dire consequences. They also threatened to kill my family members if I contacted anyone. They later shifted me to a farm house belonging to Meti, and I was locked up for three days," reports Kannada Prabha quoting Vijayalakshmi.
"When my character was being assassinated, the CID had given a clean chit to the former minister. I was upset and tried to commit suicide. But my family members saved my life. I would not let this life to go waste, so I decided to wage war against the minister," Vijayalakshmi told media persons.
