Naga pleads with judge that the police are torturing him, abusing and trying to kill him. Naga’s son Shastri claimed the inspector threw a revolver at him asking him to shoot himself. The judge did not budge and rejected Naga’s plea to permit him to get admitted into Mallya, Manipal or Vikram Hospital. Naga is currently remanded to judicial custody till July 13.

Nagaraj alias Naga, the former corporator, accused of hoarding of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 currency notes, and his associates have been granted judicial custody till July 13 by 56th ACMM Court.

Nagaraj, his sons and associates were arrested, under money laundering case, by Hennur Police, and investigated by Srirampura Police and finally handed over to the custody of Kengeri Police. After the custody period, all 6 of them were produced before the court. The judge remanded them to judicial custody till July 13.

During inquiry, Nagaraj and his son Shastri appealed to the court to make a statement. The judge permitted and Nagaraj said that the police are trying to kill him. He said, though he has been fitted with a rod in hand following an accident, the police subjected him to physical torture. The police used unparliamentary language. All inspectors from Kengeri, Kamakshipalya, Cotton Pet, Nandhini Layout and Rajagopala Nagar police stations jointly attempted to kill him, he alleged. “They forced fed me a fistful of tablets. I became unconscious after that. I was admitted to Rajarajeshwari Nagar hospital where they washed my stomach and removed the tablets. But still my brain, intestine and heart are affected by the poison. I need medical treatment. Kindly save me from police or else they will kill me” he pleaded.

Nagaraj’s son Shastri said “the inspector threw a revolver at me and said I should shoot myself or else he would shoot me. I was thrown to the floor and stamped upon. The police are torturing me”.

Ravindranath Kamat, Nagaraj’s lawyer submitted in writing allegations made by Nagaraj and appealed to permit Nagaraj to be admitted to Malya, Manipal or Vikram Hospital.

Turning down the appeal the judge said he can submit an appeal to 21 ACMM court.
