Record rainfall ensures record collection at Namma Metro

FollowThe century’s record rain caused damage to human lives and property in the City but Namma Metro is all smiles for raking in Rs 96 lakh, which is another record, reports Kannada Prabha.
On August 16, ticket revenue collected at Purple line between Byappanahalli and Mysore Road and Green Line between Nagasandra and Yelachenahalli was a combined Rs 95.76 lakh. After the heavy rains on Monday and Tuesday, the public did not want to take risk to take out their vehicles and took the Metro. A total number of 3, 50, 060 commuters travelled via the Metro on Wednesday. Though the record commuters stands at 3,57,589 on Aug 11, the collection that day was Rs 88.96 lakh, on Wednesday most of the commuters travelled long distance fetching Rs 95.76 lakh, said BMRCL PRO U A Vasantha Rao to Kannada Prabha.
