KSRTC's December gift: 550 extra buses to be added
As December will see a spike in vacationers, the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has added 550 buses to operate in various routes. These buses will operate from Kempegowda Bus Station, Mysuru Road Satellite Bus Station and Shanthi Nagar. According to KSRTC, offers on tickets such as discounts of 5% on bookings of four tickets and above and 10% on return tickets will be rolled out.
This December The Karnataka Road Transport Corporation has dished out a perfect Christmas and new year offer for its passengers. Apart from adding 550 extra buses in various bus depots across the city to decongest the mad rush, the KSRTC will offer discounts of 5% on booking of four tickets and above and 10% on return tickets on December 22 and 23 and the same will apply on December 31 and January 1.
Special buses from Kempe Gowda Bus Station will, by and large, be used for intercity travel. Places like Raichur, Hubballi, Dharwad, Belagavi, Gokarna, Sirsi, Mangaluru, Karwar are some of the routes the new fleet will cover. Similarly, buses from Mysuru Road will operate to closer destinations like Mysuru, Hunsur, Madikeri, Virajpet, Kushalnagar and other areas.
Buses to and from Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Kerala will ply from Shanthi Nagar bus depot.
This apart, Vijayanagar, Jayanagar, Jeevan Bima Nagar, Jalahalli, Ganganagar, and Kengeri Satellite Town will station buses to places like Tirupati, Davanagere, Shivamogga, Kundapur, Dharamshala and Sringeri. The special buses will operate on routes that are connected by Horanadu, Kukke Subramanya, Dharmasthala.
"Apart from adding 550 extra buses to decongest the festive rush, the KSRTC has decided to dish out offers to passengers opting for KSRTC buses, who will get 5% off on booking four tickets and above and 10% off on return tickets," said Shivayogi C Kalasad, Managing Director, KSRTC.
