Accordingly, it has been decided to waive off loans taken by the small and micro farmers in the state. The loans taken for crops will be waived off completely said Kumaraswamy.
A meeting of the Nationalised Banks will be convened and they will be convinced to start the procedure of waiving off the loans, he said. He also said that the coalition government is ready to favour the waiving off the loans.
Experience of Siddaramaiah who has presented budget 13 times also will be put to use, he said.
He will hold another meeting with farmers regarding the drinking water issues. A meeting will be held with AICC President Rahul Gandhi in this regard, who is on a foreign tour right now and will return to India in two days and a decision will be taken.
He said that Congress was also for waiving off the loans of the farmers. Nodal officers have been appointed to look into the procedure.
However, in the manifesto, JD(S) had claimed to waive off all kinds of loans of the farmers within 24 hours of coming into power. But even after Kumaraswamy became the CM, he has been seeking more time to take a decision and announce a plan in this regard.
His justification is that he would have followed the manifesto if he had become the CM without any other party's support.
Reacting to the same, Opposition Leader Yeddyurappa has slammed Kumaraswamy and termed his promises false. Kumaraswamy is going back on his own promises, said Yeddyurappa.
