Income Tax raids are being carried out on Wednesday morning, July 2, at the Eagleton Resort where 44 Congress MLAs are staying. About 20 IT officials have raided the resort as well as Karnataka Power Minister DK Shivakumar's house.

The IT officials started the raid at Eagleton Resort at 7 am where 44 Congress MLAs arrived in Bengaluru on Saturday, July 29, with a view to keep them from resigning or joining the BJP.

The IT officials are checking the rooms booked by DK Shivakumar and also by Member of Parliament and Shivakumar's brother DK Suresh.

The IT officials conducted the raid after receiving information of large amount of money stashed in the property as well as at the resort.

The officials have confiscated the mobiles of the two ministers and are questioning them. Member of Legislative Council and close aide of Shivakumar, S Ravi, is also being questioned by IT officials.

More than 40 police personnel have been deployed at Shivakumar's home. The house has been cordoned off for outsiders

Reports say that IT officials were tracking Shivakumar's movements for the last ten days. The officials are also checking his office. They will also check for the companies he registered recently.

Eagleton Golf Resort is embroiled in a legal battle where it has been accused of encroaching 77 acres of government land. The state government had decided to collect Rs. 998 crore for the encroachment.

The sleuths raided a total of 39 properties owned by the DK brothers. Rs 5 crore has been recovered from Shivakumar's Delhi residence.
