These days, Sandalwood directors are queuing up in front of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's home office 'Krishna' to invite him to their movies. No, chief minister is not a movie buff. But they feel that chief minister watching their movies helps them in good box office collection. And the prestige that is attached to the movie!

Siddaramaiah - after the hectic bypoll campaigning - was caught watching 'Power Star' Puneeth Rajkumar starrer 'Raajakumaraa' along with his colleagues. Siddaramaiah had inivited  Puneeth Rajkumar along with the director to congratulate them.

Recently, chief minister watched the year's epic movie, 'Baahubali 2' along with his son and grandson, after he returned from Dubai trip. This had evoked mixed response from the movie makers. Huchcha Venkat in his press meet had wondered why the chief minister watched the Telugu blockbuster when there were many good Kannada movies, including his 'Porki Huchcha Venkat'. Even, the 'Raaga' movie producer and actor Mithra appealed to the chief minister to watch the movie and save the movie from 'Baahubali 2' onslaught.

Thanks to his overworking PR machinery that the movie makers today wait outside the CM's office to invite him to their movies. On Monday, noted actor BC Patil had gone to invite Siddaramaiah for his latest venture 'Happy New Year'. While the chief minister is said to have told him that he was too busy to catch the movie, he may not be able to convince many in waiting. With the state going for elections next year, chief minister is pretty sure about the importance of Sandalwood celebrities during campaigning. Now, can he afford to say no to them?
