High Court directs 2 Revenue officers to deposit each Rs 50000

The High Court has directed 2 Revenue Officers to deposit Rs 50,000 each with the HC registrar for issuing manual Khata instead of e-Khata.  A Bench headed by Justice Vineet Kothari  has directed Chief Executive Officer, Bengaluru District Panchayat and Development Officer of Kallubala Gram Panchayat, Anekal taluk to deposit each Rs 50,000. They were supposed to issue e-khata instead they have issued a handwritten khata to Bharathamma and others of Jigani village.

Bharathamma and others had filed a case with the High Court questioning the manual e-khata. Hearing the case the court said both the officers should be present at the next hearing.  Posting the next hearing to July 28, the bench said it will show cause why the money deposited by the two erring officials should not be sanctioned to the applicant.

Bharathamma of Harapanahalli, Jigani Hobli, Anekal taluk had purchased a site at Nisarga layout survey no 25.  During issuing the khata the officials issued manual handwritten khata instead of e-khata.  When the applicant submitted it to the bank for procuring housing loan, the bank had rejected to sanction the loan. Hence Bharathama had appealed to the court to direct the officials to issue e-khata.
