New IT and aerospace park, Industrial Township to come up in Bengaluru
Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah presented his 14th Budget on Friday, stating that the Congress government in which has prioritised job development in the state, plans to build an information technology park in Kadugodi in Bengaluru as well as an industrial township on BEML (Bharat Earth Movers Limited) land.
FollowA 100-acre Technology Innovation Park will be built in Kadugodi, Bengaluru, to foster the development of the state's semiconductor sector and complement Karnataka's sustained leadership in the electronics sector.
It will entail the establishment of a technological research centre as well as the provision of services and facilities for semiconductor research and development, testing, and design, among other things. The state government will create a large 'Industrial Township' on BEML property to boost economic activity along the Chennai-Bangalore Industrial Corridor.

A industrial cluster in Vijayapur district will be formed, as will clusters of export-oriented industries in Dakshina Kannada. A new policy will be adopted to support agricultural product processing industries.
Agricultural land up to two acres in size will be allowed to be utilised for industrial purposes without modification. For this, appropriate changes would be made to the Karnataka Land Revenue Act.
A state-of-the-art Karnataka Aerospace Technology Centre will be established in the Devanahalli Aerospace and Defence Park in Bengaluru to strengthen the state's aerospace sector and focus specifically on MSMEs.
Siddaramaiah added that the state intends to build common facility centres on the PPP model so that MSMEs can access machines, equipment, and community infrastructure.
Steps will be done to modernise and professionalise the state's public enterprises in order to improve their operations. Marketing techniques will be encouraged to compete in national and worldwide markets by providing new products and services.

On behalf of the State Small Industries Development Corporation (KSSIDC), Chittapura in Kalaburagi, Hubli, Kodkani in Uttara Kannada, Kanagala in Belgaum, Badanaguppe in Chamarajanagar, and Vijayapura, New industrial parks will be built in sections in seven locations, including Vijayapur and Shahpura in Yadgiri.
