Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury stood by actor Sushant Singh Rajput's girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty. In the wake of an AIIMS forensic report that said Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput died after he committed suicide, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury on October 4 demanded the release of actress Rhea Chakraborty and alleged that she was a “victim of political conspiracy.”

Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury said, “We are all pained by the expiry of Sushant, but he cannot be honoured by falsely implicating a woman as an accused. I have earlier said that Rhea Chakraborty is innocent and should be released without further harassment. She has been a victim of political conspiracy.”
