MK Stalin: TN government to build 11,000 houses for Sri Lankan Tamils
Making a statement inside the Tamil Nadu assembly, Stalin said that initially 3,500 houses will be built initially while the remaining 7,500 houses will be constructed after their current settlements are inspected.

Making a statement inside the Tamil Nadu assembly, Stalin said that initially 3,500 houses will be built initially while the remaining 7,500 houses will be constructed after their current settlements are inspected.Â
Stalin further said that an amount of Rs 30 crore will be allocated for the basic amenities of Sri Lankan Tamils while another Rs 5 crore will be provided for refugee children.
The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister also informed that an advisory committee comprising Non-Resident Tamils Welfare Minister KS Masthan, MPs and MLAs will be formed to look into matters such as getting citizenship for the Lankan refugees living in Tamil Nadu and assisting them to visit Sri Lanka.
According to reports, around 58,000 Sri Lankan refugees have been residing in 106 camps across the state for three decades.Â
