Karnataka: Colleges to reopen from November 17

The Karnataka government has decided to reopen colleges that have been closed for months due to the ongoing pandemic COVID-19. Both UG and PG colleges will reopen from November 17.

Bengaluru: The Karnataka government has decided to reopen colleges that have been closed for months due to the ongoing pandemic COVID-19. Both UG and PG colleges will reopen from November 17.

The announcement was made after Chief Minister of Karnataka BS Yediyurappa gave a green signal to reopen colleges in the state.

The reopen date was announced by Deputy Chief Minister Ashwath Narayan after he had a meeting with BS Yediyurappa.

The students will be given an option of attending classes either online or offline. Those who want to attend the class offline will have to submit an approval letter from their parents.

The Deputy Chief Minister added that the practical classes conducted offline will be given a priority. Engineering, Diploma, Post-Graduate, and Under-Graduate colleges will open first.

Meanwhile, Minister Suresh Kumar has written a letter to the commissioner of public instruction department in which he has instructed the commissioner to conduct online classes for school students as per the new guidlines. 

Schools have been given strict orders to follow the online education guideline.
