Incessant rain cripples Delhi-NCR, commuters left in the lurch

Heavy rains flood Delhi roads commuters left in lurch

Heavy rains in the national capital has lead to water-logging in major roads crippling the movement of traffic across the city.

 

The MET department has said that the NCR region will be experiencing moderate thunderstorms for the next few days.

 

The weather bureau has forecast thunderstorm with rain through the day. The minimum temperature was recorded at 26 degrees Celsius at 8.30 AM. The city received 3.9 mm of rainfall in the last 24 hours, an official said. The maximum temperature will be around 32 degrees Celsius.

 

Commuters who were on their way to work were left stranded in the heavy rains as auto rickshaw drivers refuse to ply on waterlogged roads; the miffed citizens took to social media to vent out their frustration   


 

 

 

 

 


 

Barapullah flyover towards DND, Ashram Chowk, Ring Road Maharani Bagh, Lajpat Nagar, Sarai Kale Khan, Raja Garden towards Mayapuri and Gymkhana towards Teen Murti Marg were also among the major water-logged points.

 

Delhi Traffic Police announced that the major water-logged points included Ring Road Dhaula Kuan, Bhairon Marg towards Mathura Road and the Teen Murti roundabout among others.

 

 

"Heavy rains in Gurgaon, please be advised. Be patient and maintain lane discipline, we are on the job to facilitate your movement," the Gurgaon police tweeted.

 

 

Flight operations have been affected due to bad weather. Indigo Airlines has tweeted that flights are expected to be delayed due to bad weather conditions.
