Gurmeet Ram Rahim gets special treatment, assistant in Rohtak jail?

FollowRecent reports on the Dera Sacha Sauda crisis suggest that self-styled Godman Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh has been shifted to Haryana's Rohtak jail. However, a few other reports suggest that he will be lodged in a special cell, will be supplied bottled mineral water and an assistant to stay with him.Â
After being convicted and arrested, he was reportedly shifted to Rohtak by helicopter. In fact, a video from the court premises showed a woman carrying several bags and pieces of luggage as he left. After he landed in Rohtak, he was lodged in a police guest house that was transformed into a makeshift jail. He was, however, shifted to a prison much later in the evening.
Top cops, however, denied reports of special treatment to the Dera Chief. An official said, "some channels and  papers reporting on special treatment to Ram Rahim. I clarify he is in Sunaria Jail, not in a guesthouse."
During the hearing yesterday, the godman could be seen dressed in all-whites and standing with his hands folded, eye closed in prayer. He is scheduled to be sentenced on Monday. Immediately after the verdict was announced, thousands of his supporters gathered in Panchkula and began damaging public property. There were clashes in Sirsa too. So far, 32 people have died and over 500 are injured. Large gatherings have been banned in several parts in Delhi, along the border with Haryana.
