Coronavirus: Former Assam CM Tarun Gogoi tests positive for COVID-19
Former Assam chief minister Tarun Gogoi said on August 26 that he has been diagnosed with COVID-19
Jorhat (Assam): 85-year-old Tarun Gogoi tested positive for coronavirus on August 26. The former Assam chief minister requested all those who came in contact with him recently to get tested.
He took to Twitter and wrote, "I have been tested COVID-19 positive yesterday. People who came in contact with me during the last few days, should go for Covid test immediately."

According to reports, his wife Dolly Gogoi tested negative for COVID-19.
Presently, the legislator is in home isolation. He is the 13th Assam legislator to be diagnosed with COVID-19.
His former cabinet colleague Ajanta Neog, the MLA from Golaghat, tested COVID-positive on August 25 and was admitted to the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital.

India's COVID-19 tally crossed the 32-lakh mark with 67,151 new cases and 1,059 deaths in the last 24 hours, according to the Union ministry of health and family welfare (MOHFW).
The overall coronavirus count reached 32,34,475 including 7,07,267 active cases, 24,67,759 cured/discharged/migrated and 59,449 deaths.
