Coronavirus: 56 deaths reported in single day; infected count exceeds 2.5 lakhs in West Bengal

The number of COVID-19 cases in West Bengal has exceeded 2.5 lakhs. According to the state health bulletin on Monday (September 28), 56 people had died in a single day. In all, 4,837 people died in West Bengal. However, out of the 56 people who died, 15 were from Kolkata.

The number of COVID-19 cases in West Bengal has exceeded 2.5 lakhs. However, the statistics show that the recovery rate has increased by 87.73%.

According to the state health bulletin on Monday (September 28), 56 people had died in the state in a single day. On Sunday (September 27), the number was 60. In all, 4,837 people died in West Bengal. However, out of the 56 people who died, 15 were from Kolkata.

Besides, 8 people were from North 24 Parganas, 2 from South 24 Parganas, and 9 from Howrah, 4 from Hooghly, 1 from East Burdwan, 6 from West Midnapore, 1 from Jhargram, Bankura, and Nadia succumbed to coronavirus. 1 person died in North Dinajpur, 1 from Jalpaiguri, 1 from Darjeeling, 1 from Koochbihar, and 2 from Alipurduar.

According to the state health bulletin, 3,155 people have been infected with COVID in the last 24 hours in West Bengal. On Sunday (September 27), the number was 3,185. So far, a total of 2,50,580 have been infected in the state. However, 2,923 people have recovered in a single day. On Sunday (September 27), the number was 2,946 people. In all, a total of 2,19,844 people have recovered in the state. As a result, the recovery rate has increased to 87.73 percent.

There have been 41,281 COVID tests conducted in a single day in West Bengal. On Sunday (September 27), it was 43,618. So far, the total number of Tests has crossed 31 lakhs in the state. For every 10-lakh population, the number of COVID tests increased to 34,888 people.
