Bengaluru: Once again Bengaluru has emerged as the most preferred city to work for IT professionals in India, according to a survey. Delhi-NCR is the least preferred in the country.

About 45% felt Bengaluru is good for techies followed by Hyderabad (20%) and Pune (19%). The next two cities were Chennai (9%) and Delhi-NCR (7%), TechGig said on Wednesday (April 8).

About 71% voted for Bengaluru for good salary package. Despite unending traffic woes, those surveyed felt the city has everything that an IT professional wants.

The survey also found out that over 57% are already working in their city of choice and most of them did not show any interest in shifting from their current location, the company said.

“Indian techies constitute one of the biggest workforce groups at India Inc. It’s important to understand their preferences,” Sunjay Goyal, Business Head, TimesJobs and TechGig, said in a statement.

“The trends found by this TechGig survey help in understanding the factors that matter most to the Indian techies. Bengaluru is a clear winner here and future career prospects are one major reason for this ranking,” Goyal said.

Currently, India is under a 21-day lockdown due to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
