After attempted rape Delhi woman thrown off fourth floor for raising alarm

A 21-year old woman, working as an assistant chef at a five-star hotel, was allegedly thrown off the fourth floor of an under-construction building in Rohini district's Begumpur for raising alarm on being raped by one of her friends. According to police, her friends made a PCR call at 11 pm on Friday. When the cops rushed to the spot, they found the woman naked, lying in a pool of blood.

According to several media reports, she is now battling for life. The victim's father said, "We got a call from police late at night, informing us that our daughter was hurt. Nobody told us that she was injured to such an extent."

Narrating the chain of events, the father said that his daughter was not doing well, but she still went to meet her friends. Police said that all of them worked in the same hotel, until the accused shifted to a different hotel as an assistant chef. Incidentally, the woman had met the accused for the first time with two of their mutual friends when the incident took place.

According to police report, three of them, including the accused reached a market place close to her house and called her up to join them. When she arrived, four of them sat on the bike and headed toward a mall. They were stopped midway by the police since three of them were riding pillion on the same bike and the vehicle was impounded in Punjabi Bagh. All of them then headed toward the accused's house in an autorickshaw so that they can pick up his car and drop everyone home. Police further alleged that the accused asked the rest of his friends to wait in the autorickshaw till he came back after introducing the woman to his mother.

He, however, took her to an under-constructed building and attacked her. He ripped off her clothes and tried to rape her. When she tried to raise an alarm, he beat her up brutally and threw her from the fourth floor of the building. During the fall, the woman allegedly hit the cable wires before hitting the floor. One of the locals who saw her falling from the building called for help. Hearing the commotion, the accused's friends reached the spot to witness the horrifying scene and called for the cops. DCP (Rohini) Rishi Pal, speaking to the Times of India, said that they have arrested the accused and booked him under section 307 (attempt to murder), 366 (kidnapping), 511 (punishment for attempting to commit offences punishable with imprisonment for life or other imprisonment) and 376 (punishment for rape) of the IPC.
