New Delhi: Around 150 Indians deported from the US, for either violating their visa norms or illegally entering America, landed at the Delhi airport on Wednesday morning, an official said.

The special aircraft carrying them landed at the T3 terminal of the Delhi airport at 6am, the official stated. The aircraft reached India via Bangladesh.

All the 150 Indians were ushered into the terminal and after paperwork with the immigration department exited the airport.

These Indians have either violated their visa norms or were illegal immigrants, the official said.

In October, in an unprecedented move, a specially arranged non-scheduled flight carrying 311 Indians, escorted by nearly 60 security personnel landed in India.

Immigration sources have confirmed that these Indians had illegally reached Mexico over the last few months with the help of international agents who had allegedly promised them entry into the US through illegal means.

Majority of repatriated Indians were from Punjab who had travelled to Mexico at frequent intervals.
