Landslide in Karnataka claims three lives, one seriously injured

FollowMangaluru: Three labourers died and one is serious after sustaining injuries in a landslide that took place in Odiyoor near Kanyana, in Vittal, Karnataka, on Saturday (December 7) at around 5.30pm.
According to reports, the labourers were attempting to dig a hillock with an excavator for the construction of a building. An unexpected landslide occurred as the mud came crashing down.
The labourers were reportedly working near the foot of the hillock when the tragic event took place.
The rescue operation began soon after a fire engine was called. Three labourers lost their lives. One is seriously injured and is being treated at the hospital nearby.
Officers from the Vittal police station inspected the spot. A case is registered.
