BJP MP Pratap Simha abuses top cop ahead of Dussehra celebrations in Mysuru
In a video, BJP MP from Mysuru, Pratap Simha is seen abusing the police officials and questioning them as to who gave permission to set the stage to celebrate Mahishasura festival on Chamundi hills ahead of Dussehra celebrations. While the top cop said he is not aware of the incident, BJP sources said that Pratap Simha's actions were unbecoming of an MP.
Mysuru: BJP MP from Mysuru, Pratap Simha was seen abusing the police officials as the stage was set to celebrate Mahishasura festival on the hilltop of Chamundi hills ahead of Dussehra celebrations in the city.
Pratap Simha was seen engaging in a heated argument with the higher officials, while showcasing his disagreement with the celebration.

Speaking to Asianet Newsable, Mysuru police commissioner KT Balakrishna refused to comment on this and said that he was not aware of the incident. "If the event was true, I would then take a call to decide what steps have to be taken," he added.
Meanwhile, Asianet Newsable also spoke to a member of the BJP, who said that Pratap Simha should not have lost his cool in public as he is a public representative and this event would invite a bad impression on the party. The BJP member, on the condition of anonimity, also said that Pratap Simha should apologise to the police officers for using foul language in public.
According to Indian mythology, Dussehra is celebrated to mark how Goddess Chamundeshwari (also called as Durga) killed demon Mahishasura. The demon was slayed by the Goddess, and this gave the city its name - Mysuru.
