Lakshmir Bhandar Scam: Howrah Woman loses Rs 40,000, claims 5-year fraud in scheme!

A huge scam in the Lakshmir Bhandar scheme has just been exposed. A woman from Howrah, Moumita Mondal, claims she hasn't received any money for the last five years. She alleges that her funds are being diverted to someone else's account.

Five years of fraud

Moumita Mondal, a resident of Howrah, alleges that her Lakshmir Bhandar scheme money has been going into someone else's account for the last five years.

Moumita's complaint

Moumita says she has reported the issue to the district administration and the Social Welfare Department. However, she claims that officials from both departments have repeatedly ignored her complaints.

Application for Laxmi Bhandar

Moumita Mondal confirms she applied for the Laxmi Bhandar scheme right when it was launched in 2021. But she alleges that from the very beginning, the money meant for her has been diverted to another account.

Money in another account!

Moumita even provided the administration with details of the wrong account receiving her funds. She also visited multiple 'Duare Sarkar' camps for help, but nothing has worked out so far. She is yet to receive any money.

Not given importance

Moumita alleges the administration dismissed her complaints. She was shockingly told that they couldn't do anything if her money was going elsewhere. This makes her suspect that an active fraud ring is siphoning off funds from the scheme.

Popular scheme

The Laxmi Bhandar scheme is extremely popular in the state. Under this project, the government gives women ₹1,500 monthly, while women from backward communities receive ₹1,800 per month.

Money increased in budget

In this year's budget, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee increased the financial allocation for the Laxmi Bhandar scheme. The project is a major talking point and source of excitement among the state's residents.

Allegation of not getting money

This isn't the first time fraud allegations have surfaced about the scheme's funds. Earlier, another Howrah resident, Kabita Mondal, had also made similar complaints about fraud.

Moumita's earnings in the last 5 years

Over the last five years, Moumita has not received any money from the Laxmi Bhandar scheme. The total amount she is owed comes to around ₹40,000.
