Suvendu Adhikari demands to keep West Bengal government employees out of election process
BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari has demanded that the elections be conducted with a 'neutral administration' as soon as the dates of the polls were declared in the state. On Friday (February 26) afternoon, he said the state administration should be removed and the commission should form a neutral administration for conducting the election.

FollowSuvendu Adhikari said, “We have to vote without terrorism. Central forces should be deployed more. The Election Commission has thought neutrally and announced the poll dates. I personally welcome this move.”

The BJP leader also said, “There should be free and fair polls in the state. I hope the election will not be like the last time. Every political party will fight. One will win and the rest will lose. The commission has to create a peaceful environment during the election. The commission should form a neutral administration by removing the entire state administration.”
The Election Commission of India (ECI) has announced the schedule for the assembly elections in West Bengal. The state will go to the polls in eight phases and the votes will be counted on May 2 along with the others.
The election body’s officials said the polling had to be spread out due to festivals, the movement of security forces and an increased number of polling stations keeping in mind the COVID-19 related protocols.
Chief Election Commissioner Sunil Arora said they had taken the decision considering the situation in the state. He also said that the BSF has been asked to arrange a helicopter for two police observers.
